A Year in Your Hands
Every sheet in the Collection is made by hand — be it cotton, recycled fibres, corn husk, denim, or with pressed petals or confetti — nothing printed, nothing mass-produced. What you're holding is the material itself: its colour comes from natural dye, its texture from the fibre it was pulled from, its story from the theme it belongs to.
Each month is a different world: August was the inaugural start to In The Vat Mail club.
Twelve themes, twelve papers, twelve small handmade objects that only exist because someone sat down and made them
— one sheet, one card, one seal at a time.
What makes this different:
No two sheets are identical. Handmade paper carries small natural variations —
that's not a flaw, it's proof nothing was printed or mass-produced.
A collection, not just an envelope.

Every month includes a numbered swatch card (1 of 12 → 12 of 12) — by the end of the year, you'll have a complete, hand-assembled reference set of the whole year's papers, plus a themed colour-in piece, a signature handmade object
and other themed ephemera each month.
Each month each piece is specially curated to inspire.
Made in small batches, by hand, in Perth. Because everything is handmade, spots are genuinely limited each month — not as a marketing trick, but because there's a real limit to how many sheets can be made, dyed, and assembled by hand in time to post.
This isn't something you'll find on a shelf. It's made slowly, on purpose, for people who want to hold something someone actually made.
Spaces are limited each month — once they're gone, that month's theme won't be available.
What you receive:
Each month varies around the core items of handmade papers, a numbered swatch, a small notebook, a bookmark and gift tags. Other items may include wax seals, stickers, pressed flowers, confetti, envelopes, info sheets, art prints and more.

Orders are sent out on the 15th of each month. If you placed an order before the 15th you receive the current Collection.
If you order after the 15th you receive the next months Collection
At present we have no structure on-line for this. This may change in the future. There are genuinely limited copies of each Collection as each set of papers are made in one batch for that Collection. If you really are interested reach out via email and I can check stocks.
This depends on where you are but can range from 5-20 days according to Australia Post for National postage and up to 4 weeks international.
Yes, at checkout there is an option for a seperate billing address.
Unfortunately my payment system doesn't allow for recurring payments to add postage at the moment. I am working on this. If you are interested reach out.
The easiest way is to make two seperate orders with a different mailing address in each.
All papers are made by myself by hand from the beginning to end. All designs are designed by myself by computer or by hand. Some decorative papers designed by myself but printed are included as supplement to theme.

Hi, I'm Geraldine
I have been a paper maker and book binder, portrait photographer, graphic designer and artist for over 25 years, running a studio, selling at markets and teaching workshops across Australia.
Creating 'In The Vat' is my act of self-care. I can do what I love, create what I want, explore what I want, share my ideas and creations with other people bringing something authentic.
Bringing a little beauty to those who resonate with it.
